I am having exact same problem.
Set up: XP, XP firewall, 512 ram, 2.66 GHz, 96 Gig HD space.
DSL ISP, Netgear router, connecting from home, LW 4.8.1 Pro, Java 1.5.0_3
ISP privider is alltel, THis is 1st try at loading LW.
