WMP will play just about any file if you have the right codecs. CODEC stands for COmpressor-DECompressor, a codec is what tells the player how to play the file, and are small files that are installed on your system. they come in packs that have many of them in one installer. do a search for "nimo codec pack" in limewire or which-ever p2p you use (you can allsow get them from the web if you like to do it that way) . download the file and SCAN IT FOR VIRUSES JUST IN CASE. the file should be about 8.49MB. there are a coulple other good ones too like the "XP codec pack" and "WM9 codecs" .

if you want to watch dvds or vob files on your computer you need a special dvd codec, it took me a while to find one that works but all systems are differant so youl proboblay have to hunt for a working one too. windvd worked for me. all the othor codecs are free but moast of the dvd codecs you have to pay for. but you can get them free if you SEARCH ...hint hint
