Go to the LW program folder & see if it opens directly. If yes then delete & recreate your shortcuts. If not, then see below.

Try changing LW to win 2k compatibility; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire (point 4)

Reinstall Java (see above link) If Java 1.5 doesn't work then uninstall it & try Java 1.4.2
