Don't try to disable sharing. From what I can tell (and I know absolutely nothing of the actual coding), your ability to download is dependent on your sharing. I had just installed and started a few downloads when I decided to start playing with the preferences. I noticed that it had a default of 3Kbps to upload, which is pretty darn slow. So, I upped it to 12. I went back to my dowenloads page and noticed that my existing downloads were now coming in at up to about 12 (give or take - you know how that goes.)

Is this a feature? If so, very cool.
