It is the number of locations it has found, not the number of files.

i.e

SONG ARTIST (13)
- (3) song name
- (6) another song name
- (2) another song name
- another song name
- another song name

The results with the bracket'ed number show that that exact file has been found in however many different hosts. If you know what i mean.
