The program LimeWire is legal. It's the way people use it (eg. downloading copyrighted material) that becomes illegal.

This question has been answered lots of times. Use the search (top right, between faq and home) to look for 'Is LimeWire legal' or something similar. This way, you can read many peoples opinions
