That should have worked how did you uninstall LimeWire did you uninstal it from Add and Remove programs or did you delete it. It sounds like it may not have been completely uninstalled. You can try and delete the LimeWire folder you can do this by going to
Start/C: Drive/Program Files and delete the LimeWire folder.
Also go to add and remove programs look for java and uninstall Java all versions that you see. You can get Java at the link below try 1.5.0.6 first if that doesn't work then try version 1.4 if that doesn't work there is a new version of java out 1.6 but I don't recommend it if you can get it to work with the others it is a beta it does work with LimeWire I am currently using it but it does not work with Frostwire. You can get Java 6 at the 2nd link.
