To my understanding there's 3 versions of BearShare. Lite is the only one that doesn't have spyware. Spyware has been in pro for a few years now. There's discussions & disagreements with the BS programmer on this forum dating back a few years.
AaronWalkhouse would be the best one to give you advice about this issue. He drops in to the forum almost daily.
