Videora is "supposed" to be able to adapt the files to be able to be imprted to the iPod. If not, then use 3G I think it's called; see this section here including links to videora's forum: How to transfer to my iPod (& iTunes) - for video

BTW Im not aware of VLC being used to convert & resave files.
