Try steps 2, 3 & 5 here: Fixes for Limewire. Actually, use your add/remove control panel & remove Java. Then reinstall using the "Offline" Java installer which is about 15 MB download (step 1 above.) Sometimes installing Java online causes corrupted installations. Same applies to LW sometimes. So perhaps reinstall LW using the "Offline" version also.
