Assuming that you downloaded the update from the official LW website:http://www.limewire.com/, there are not many possibilities. When you tried to uninstall LW, did you use the Start>Programs>Limewire>Uninstall function, or the Control Panel>Remove Program function?
The latter one would have been a bad choice......

Another thing could be that a virus is hidding in your system (the many files in the LW folder indicate something like that).

So, what can you do? If you used the "bad choice" to uninstall LW, then you have to reinstall it with the offline installer of LW (download from the link above). When LW is in the installation process, it will automatically remove any previous version.
If that doesn't solve the issue, I reckon to check for any possible trojan, virus or whatever culprit you might have got.......
