Guess they will resend the password to the email address you have used when completing the registration (I haven't had this problem yet,....

Whether it is worth to upgrade, hmm,.....if you expect any dramatic changes, guess "No", however, since the network is constantly growing and hence the clients need constant adjustments (only possible if the developers have enough funds to further work on it) I'd say "Yes".
If the development of the client would have stopped 3 years ago, you wouldn't be able to use the network anymore, or at least the use of it would be slow crawling......so, if they run out of funds, you'll end up in the future with an "almost" unusable client....(my personal opinion).
Besides, you might spend this amount of money easily on a Friday night between 8 and 10 pm.........
