you will have to buy some capturing hardware, whether it be a 'standalone' unit, or as part of a graphics card...one thing to make sure of is the resolution of the capture and whether or not there is stereo capability...

now, you could take the VHS to a commercial shop and have the transfer done, but most likely the cost of that will be more than buying the hardware (which of course can be used to also capture cable broadcasts, and can be used again, and again, and again..the cost of the transfer of one VHS is a one time thing..hence it is more economical to buy the hardware)
