can't connect to the network I was using Limewire with DSL in California and loved it, but now I’m in Boston with a new cable modem and cannot get Limewire to connect.
My cable provider (RCN) assures me that they do not block access to the Gnutella network but can’t offer any assistance beyond verifying that I do have a stable internet connection--which I do. I can surf the web, Instant Message and connect to AOL via TCP/IP. Why can’t I get connected to Limewire? Do I have a software conflict? Do any of my settings need to be adjusted? I have even removed all but the most necessary extensions and still no luck. This is very frustrating because sharing via Limeware is my primary reason for having a high-speed connection.
Is anyone else on the East Coast using Limewire with RCN? Please help.
