I see that you are also a victim of your current ISPs bandwidth/traffic shaping policy, or as they would call it “Fair Usage” policy.

You asked:To be honest, you can’t because your ISP has installed equipment and software that actively looks for P2P traffic and curbs it.

The only way to avoid your ISPs bandwidth shaping is to move to another ISP, now in the UK there are probably less than six ISPs that do not employ bandwidth shaping techniques, of which I only know of two, i.e. NTL and Bulldog. It may also be possible that Tesco do not bandwidth shape but my good friend and forum colleague Only A Hobo could answer that one.
