Go thru the steps here Fixes for Limewire & that includes uninstalling all versions of Java you have & reinstalling the latest Java.

Miranda:-D when you install LW it gives you the option of having a shortcut on the desktop. You should also be able to find it under Start menu > Programs > LimeWire
