What happens is this: You pay for LW Pro & that entitles you to free updates & email support for up to 6 months. So after the 6 months, your email address is no longer in the database (simply because you're entitled to support for 6 months but no longer). If you don't renew after 6 months, you're no longer a Pro subscriber so it stands to reason that your email address won't be in the Pro subscribers' database.
Everyone is given the chance to renew their Pro subscription for a reduced fee after 6 months...it's just over $14 USD (I'm not exactly sure of the amount, it's been a while since I renewed mine). If you don't take that option, your email address will be removed from the database because you're not a Pro subscriber.
RaeRae, don't get shitty with me. I don't work for LimeWire. I'm just helping in this forum. But it really is your responsibility to back up your installers...not just LW Pro, but any installer that you've paid for & downloaded via the internet. I save all of my installers to an external HDD...because otherwise I'm stuffed if my computer dies, aren't I? It's common sense really.
But, I do think that LW should add something to their Pro download information. It should clearly state, in big letters, that the purchaser of Pro is entitled to use the versions that they download forever, BUT that that purchaser is solely responsible for the saving & backup of any Pro installers that they download during the period of their LW Pro subscription. Maybe if they did that, there could be absolutely no confusion as to where they stand when their Pro installers are lost. |
