Many films are fake files. You should check them first with Bitzi. If you have valid files and they won't play on your player, you probably don't have the correct codecs installed. You can download and install the codecs separately (harder, but more elegant approach) or you can simply download VLC player which has most codecs built in. If you install the DivX and XviD codecs, you should be able to watch most films. See these links for help:

Burning a DVD is a whole different ballgame. Let's get you to where you can watch the movies on your computer first.
