Have you been able to connect to LW in the past?
Try updating your Java to this version. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version before installing the new one.

Rather than turning off your Norton firewall, configure it to allow LW! Make sure that the XP firewall's turned off...2 software firewalls together will cause problems
