Default Having problems with LW in OS 9 ? See here ...

Sometimes one version does not work well on some people's systems. Therefore, there is an option to use the Basic LW 4.0.7 version to see if this overcomes some issues some people may have with 4.0.10
(Since March 2012 you need to become a member of 4Shared to use their download services for the download links below but is free.)

These versions will only run on Mac OS 8, OS 9 or Classic environment under OS X.

LW 4.0.7 for Mac OS 8-9 (click on THIS link)

LW 4.0.2 for Mac OS 8-9 (click on THIS link). This is a custom installer since I could not find the original installer. Or Mirror Download site, (turn off your browser's AdBlocker to use FileCloud.)

LW 4.0.10 for Mac OS 8-9 (click on THIS link). or Mirror Download site, (turn off your browser's AdBlocker to use FileCloud.)

Or alternatively find all 3 of them at this FileCloud Mirror Site (FileCloud: turn off your browser's AdBlocker to use FileCloud) and choose from folder. Sorry, since March 2012, you now need to be registered at the 4Shared site to download using their download links. 4Shared LW Mac versions

Edit: May 2013: Instead of the originial .bin archive files, I have repackaged them as zip files. Sorry if this is an inconvenience. I have provided a connection file, skins (if they work with LW 4.0) and instructions.

* Note: for all LW 4 users, you will need a fresh Gnutella.net file to help you connect. See Birdy's post on how to do that here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html. Check for the specific Mac LimeWire 4 Connection installer which will run on OS 8, OS 9 or OS X to do the job for you. Alternatively, find the LW4 OS 8, 9 & X installer: here or here.

1. Install LimeWire.
2. Open and do the set-up options.
3. Then Quit LimeWire.
4. Run the Mac LimeWire 4 Connection installer.
5. Then open LimeWire again. Be patient as LW attempts to connect. It might take anywhere from a few minutes to over half an hour for LW to connect.

Or to manually place the connection file. First make sure LW is closed. Go to your System folder: Preferences folder, arrange by name and you should see the .limewire folder near to or at the top. Place the gnutella.net file inside the .limewire folder replacing any other gnutella.net file inside.
