just a note for those having problems installing 2.2.
I was getting the same error messages and after jumping through all of the hoops mentioned in the forum I got brave and d/l'ed the 2.2.1 beta version. It worked right fof the bat. my suggestion is that the problems lie in the installer not java or path statements.
