That is the point. Uninstalling limewire using just it's uninstall portion of the program made the file corrupt. The only way I could "fix" it was to totally remove it, every little piece in every little corner of my C drive. I rebooted my system and did another search from the start menu and then installed limewire from scratch, like I never had it. After loading it I made sure the connections tab was checked off, it wasn't, unlike previous versions of the software bundle. Then it worked fine. What's so scary about killing something that's not working right to begin with? Maybe my solution is not for the faint of heart but I don't like to monkey around with a program. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. And I ask again, has anyone contacted the Limewire makers? All this fuss very well may be able to be fixed with a patch. Sorry if I ruffled some feathers.
