If no settings changed & everything was still the same, the preferences folder wasn't deleted properly. Installing a new LW doesn't have the same effect as deleting that folder

Try again with LW properly closed. As LOTR said, you should look for a preferences folder in both locations (check the 'fixes for LimeWire' link in LOTR's post). You don't need to replace the .limewire folder with anything...just delete it and delete the other preferences folder also, if you have it.

If your LW isn't connected at all, you'll probably see the brick wall anyway...my brick wall never disappears until I get past the 'starting connection' stage (more than 1 bar of connection).
