Firstly sorry for the late reply.

I tried all of the above and nothing worked. I have now permanently uninsulated ZoneAlarm (well until the issue is fixed) and I am going to stick with the Windows Vista Firewall.

Thanks for your help as without it I wouldn't have realized ZoneAlarm was causing the problem (even if you close ZoneAlarm it continues to be active, it's just the control panel exits.....how annoying!).
