I believe this is an open forum for discussing anything. If you had read and understood my original thread, I was venting. As I said, I had no way of knowing, and still don't, what is and isn't explicit material. I stay away from anything that even remotely seems out of place.
I know you were venting and I had no problem with that. I purposely ignored your thread for that very reason. I think you are mistaken the moderators here for kids. I can tell you that you are wrong, and most if not all of them are adults. I have moderated before doing it here. Unlike what you might think, I am probably older than you.

They should not be critical, harsh, blaming, or cynical. I appreciate the time and energy it takes to volunteer in any venue. I have also done volunteer work and found it most rewarding. Regardless, I will not have it inferred that I am stupid or lazy. I have been working with computers for the past 15 years and most problems I solve myself. One, because it helps me understand the inner workings of my computer and programs, and two, it gives me a great sense of accomplishment to fix things on my own.
But you are lazy, not taking the time to see that what Remoc said was entirely true, instead you attacked him. As a moderator I am responsible for making sure personal attacks do not escalate, something I saw happening there.

When you attack a moderator, there are consequences. Something that happened in your previous thread, where BTW you didn't even get an official warning. You were told to behave civilized or there would be consequences, and now you continue to do so. If you weren't ready to let it go, then you could have had sent me a PM or if you had a complaint about your treatment, you could have reported it.

I didn't ask for this nor was there any way to know what I was downloading. This was a .jpeg file and seemed harmeless enough. Nor am I naive. I was the unknowning recipient of offensive material. Rather than threaten me to ban me from the Gnutella site, we should be working to find a solution to stop the proliferation on the internet of pornography in any form in any program. If you have an answer to that it would be most helpful.
Distributing pornography isn't illegal. While some people don't like it, they have a choice to not see it. A choice you chose to ignore by using the Gnutella network to download random photographs instead of using a proper venue for this e.g. Google image search with content filter turned on.

Newsflash. The First Amendment right does not apply to a privately owned forum, although if you had been civilized in your opinions and views, there would have been no problem at all. Moderators are put in place to ensure that this forum does not break any laws and rules, and also to make sure that discussions are kept civilized. In my time as moderator here I have used that power twice to warn people that were taking things too far and never banned anyone.

Well since you can't behave in a civilized manner when you encounter some problem, then good riddance.
