Before you do anything run a thorough antivirus scan and see what it shows up.
Next thing to try is to uninstall LimeWire (if you can) and re-install it with a new file obtained from the official LimeWire site. Try installing version 4.16.6 which was the last full version before the 4.17 beta version.
If your still having troubles after that, read all the Sticky replies in this forum and the other Technical support furums and see if anybody else has had to deal with a similar problem. Apparently there is a lot of files getting around which are viruses disguising themselves as LimeWire. Incidentally the latest version of Java is 1.6_05 and people sometimes call it version 6.05 but the latest non beta build is 1.6.0.
I would'nt go uninstalling Java just yet. You may be able to solve your problem by eliminating the virus or whatever it is that is interfering with Limewire.
Good Luck!
