When I tried Virex (it was free) I thought to make sure no PC malware went through my Mac and infect my PC friends -- as you and Apple point out, there really isn't need for the Mac itself. So, I expected Virex to frequently update for the PC malware.

But yeah, I suspect the business side is interested in tapping Mac users for a few dollars too.

You might get a laugh out of an old thread where one of the guys who developed the proof of concept of a mac trojan posted here. A few of us Mac users were playing with virus envy
