Talking Qwest and manual port forwarding

Hopefully this will help some of you.
Running Windows XP, Qwest, 2Wire router, Norton 360, and LW Pro v. 4.18.3.

I've always been brickwalled but able to connect with my previous 2Wire modem. Said modem died and the replacement from Qwest was another, yet slightly different, 2Wire modem. Note that according to the 2Wire tech site (2Wire.com: Support), they do not support UPnP. I tried the exceptions in Norton using the stock Listen On and Manual Port Forwarding options in LW for hours but...still no connection. I changed the port forwarding number from the default 6346 to a number > 10,000 and was finally able to connect. Apparently, 6346 is a number blocked by Qwest so you'd never be able to connect using it. Use any number greater than 10,000.

I'm still brickwalled...but now turbo-charged
