Best, no hidden rubbish, and worked on for additional refinements.

Don't use Bearshare (too much behind the scenes activity, which goes straight against the peer-2-peer idea), Limewire is not too bad, Gnotella is ok (at the moment), the rest I wouldn't suggest. But they are all worth trying though.
