Try the LW Beta 5.2.2 as that seems to have solved the issue for some people: LimeWire 5.2.2 (Beta) - Lime Wire.

Other than that, has anybody tried re-installing the Java using the Standalone offline installer listed above in post #10? Doing this used to fix similar issues for some people a few years ago.
