The Library search function does work this way in the LW 5.2.2 beta so perhaps they re-introduced that way of the Library search function.
Not sure what you mean by upload & download views however since they do not have search functions for such files already in the list. Remember the P2P Network window shows only the files that are being shared. At present the Library window shows shared, unshared & incomplete files (faded out & with
'Downloading' at end of name in brackets) for LW 5.2.2 at least. Perhaps you might wish to look at the LW 5.2.2 beta, seems quite stable & has some extras LW 5.1.3 does not have:
LimeWire 5.2.2 (Beta) - Lime Wire
Using the Library search will display incomplete files, & you can right-click the heading bar to show more options such as bitrate, uploads, upload attempts, hits, filename, size, etc.
