After install of the latest version I discovered a small rectangular 'entity' on my desktop which had attempted to 'hide' in the corner of my desktop. It looks rather like a very small portion of the taskbar in WIndows but can be moved around the screen. Of course, it cannot be closed or deleted....

Please tell me what this is for and what it does and how to get rid of it.

I do hope this is not some kind of surreptitious attempt to glean information from me or my machines without my knowledge......
