Angry 2.4.3 Update Reverting to Prior Version!!

Hi all:

I had Limewire Pro 2.1.3. When starting up, it told me about the update available to 2.4.3. I accepted the update, and it downloaded and appeared to install normally. I started Limewire again and the new version was running fine.

The next time I restarted the program, it's mysteriously reverted back to the old version!!!

It then asks me AGAIN about wanting to update to 2.4.3. I try again...cycle repeats.

WTF is going on here? What is with this funky "jar" file method of changing the program version? If I use the JAR as the executable, the updated version of LimeWire Pro seems to run (2.4.3), but with some functionality missing.

Why can't I get a new executable installer instead?

ADDENDUM: I just got the 2.4.4 update...this one seems to be working, although it "lost" the ability to share files with the extension "MP3" that had been working fine before. Adding all the default extensions back to the list, then deleting all of them but "mp3" seems to have fixed that issue.

SECOND ADDENDUM:

Looks like it was THEIR fault! Here you go:

Greetings from LimeWire-

This is a notice to Windows LimeWire Pro users who updated their
LimeWire over the weekend of May 10 to May 12. If you are using
LimeWire on a non-Windows operating system, this problem did not
affect you, and we apologize for bothering you with this message.

Over the above mentioned weekend, there was a bug in the automatic
updater for LimeWire that may have disabled your LimeWire system,
making it impossible to start the program a second time after
performing the update. We sincerely apologize for causing this
error. Fortunately, however, a fresh reinstall of LimeWire will
get it back up and running normally.

You can download the new installer from your LimeWire Pro page at:
http:// blah blah blah

Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and we very
much appreciate your business and participation in the LimeWire
community. The automatic update feature will not exhibit this
problem in the future.

Best Wishes,

The LimeWire Team
