Default The Content-Addressable Web is about to go online, comments?

This "Open Content Network" is about to go online, how does this affect Gnutella and how is it different?

http://open-content.net/

Why would I want to use it?
Will it kill the RIAA or not ?

"it is a controlled content delivery network for open source and public domain content"

Like I can't use FTP or something?
Isn't this a prime example of someone ignoring all the already working ways we have to transfer files and writing his own, as if there's nothing out there for us to use till this guy came along?
