I am using JDK-1.4 on MacOS (this is early access release from Apple)
and Limewire GUI looks bad: all fonts are unreadable. I have experienced
similar problem with other java application and usually have been able
to solve it with changing look and feel theme from Aqua to Metallic.
Unfortunately I could not find a way to do this in Limeware.

Does anybody know how to change look&feel to Metallic?
