Angry Actions of RIAA, Unfourtanely

The RIAA is putting these SPOOF FILES on the Gnutella Network, designed to alienate users.

We can fight this, by doing the following:

1) Delete any spoof files you download! This means the spoofs will masquerade slower

2) Note the IP addresses of the people you download files from. If the file you download is a spoof, then cancel downloads from that IP, or block it.

3) With the IP address you obtained above, go to www.arin.net (Americas), www.ripe.net (Europe), www.apnic.net (Asia, and Austrialla), and do a search to see who is assigned the range of IPs. If it is assigned to a company, that is NOT an ISP, you may want to block all IPs from that subnet. This way, the spoofers will get less hosts and directory query requests! Note: some spoof companies include OverPeer, MediaForce, MediaDefender, Ranger Inc, and others. Also, block RIAA, MPAA, NMPA, and the like too.

4) Publish the Spoof IPs on Buletin boards, and send them to friends.

5) Contact the RIAA, and the labels and complain that it is not ethical, and that they should support Gnutella.

6) Share some songs, and rename things like "SONG NAME HERE - NOT SPOOFED.MP3", and the like.
