That's a start. Here's how I set my firewall to allow gnutella (OSX->System Preferences->Internet and Network->Sharing->Firewall->New->Port Name->Gnutella/Limewire (6346). I've also read that some Ultrapeers reject you if you don't share >100 files.
The easiest way to check if it's your current setup is to create a new admin user, redownload a fresh copy of LW, and install again. If that setup won't connect, the problem is beyond your computer. New users get a break in the code somehow.
The other immediate possibilities are that your ISP has started blocking gnutella (doubtful if you were able to connect before), too many incomplete files are trying to connect at startup (clean out the incomplete folder and the downloads.dat file), or that somehow your IP ended up in the blocked IP list of your usual Ultrapeers (make sure you only share valid files).
Does that help you get started on troubleshooting? I don't know what other suggestions I can offer since LW 2.9.8 hasn't had trouble connecting for me. I could send you about a dozen crash logs related to other LW problems, though! |
