  you had that firewall before, when it used to work, yes? 
 considering that you have no activity in the connections tab, i would assume you are either (duh) not dialled in, or your firewall or provider blocks gutella traffic.
 
 my first bet would be to make sure the firewall lets gnutella/limewire traffic through (port 6346, both TCP and UDP).
 
 if you figure out what the problem was, particularly if it's none of the reasons i suggested above, please post it here so others know. as you mentioned, a lot of people seem to have the same problem.
