Thanks for your replies, Blackbird. Yes, it's possible that LimeWire will promote you to an Ultrapeer after about 6 hours. Otherwise, we simply promote people to become Ultrapeers when they join the network on an as-needed basis. So, if there are no Ultrapeers needed at the moment, you'll become a leaf. If there are Ultrapeers needed and you're capable of being one, you'll be an Ultrapeer.
