Not sure about the album art, but did you try shift-clicking the files? If the list is sorted so all the files you want to delete are in order, that works for me on OSX.

Still--I don't like using LW to delete files. I'd rather use LW's Explore button, then drag the files to the trash. Gives me a chance to correct the dumb mistakes I make.
