Thanks again for your help, it appears I did have a virus, 288 instances of this particular virus, the WORM.BAGLE.AH
My son came home and researched it for me and found that this virus has the same symptons as what I experienced, such as strange files appearing in the shared folder, such as the shared folder for LimeWire. All the files on the list...are what was on my computer!
