Unhappy cannot connect

Hi, stop me if you've heard this one - I can't connect.

I've got a cable modem and am running Sygate software to allow another system on my home network to access the Internet with a single Internet IP Address. The other system on my network has an "internal" IP Address (192.168...). The other system runs Limewire software without problems and can connect and download. My system with the Internet IP Addres (24.3.29.242) cannot connect. When I do an ipconfig, I see the following information:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix: catv1.md.home.com
IP Address (already mentioned)
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 24.3.29.1
