Thumbs up

Panic not .. You are headin in the right direction. You need to uninstall Limewire from Start/Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs 1st. BEFORE you reb00t.. go into C:\Program Files and delete the remaining folder if there is one left behind after your uninstall.(90%) of software will leave a cache behind after an uninstall operation). My money's on this being the reason why your Limewire App. was corrupted the same way after reinstall...
STILL DONT REBOOT..!! next, go into C:\WINDOWS and look for a file called 'Prefetch'. When located, enter this file and delete everything you see but be sure to leave the file itself untouched so it remains where you found it.If the Prefetch file is already empty this is because your Task Scheduler is disabled in Services. Not to worry tho this is neither good nor bad, just a matter of taste really.Right then...NOW you can REBOOT ... Once your PC has restarted do the following.. Go into Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools and run the Disk Cleanup on your hard drive. Next, Go back to Start/Programs/Accessories.System Tools and run the Defragmentation Tool.(<<You can NeVeR defrag a hard drive enough..PC's love you for it and the more you Defrag, the less time it takes to do it's job everytime.) Next, run a registry cleaner to remove any links to Limewire left behind.Heres a link for an excellent free one that will look after you as long as you DONT change any of its settings.Just run it on a Deep Scan and leave the settings to default. d/load here>> http://www.macecraft.com/downloads/ in the box you'll see 4 Products. You want RegSupreme 1.2 (3rd down) Its a 746kb download.Install it on your PC,Reb00t. Run RegSupreme as I described. Now dont freak out if it finds between 300 - 1500 useless registry links.Thats quite normal for people who dont maintain their Registrys. When It finishes it's search click on Select and Highlight ALL. (Select Tab is top of RegSupreme Browser 2nd Tab in..) Next click on Fix(Bottom right hand side of RegSupreme browser) and put a title in for your logfile to create. then click ok. RegSupreme will fix any links still valid and delete the rest.Job Done. Now Reb00t again and Reinstall Limewire.Make Sure After the Reinstall you reb00t again straight away.(Rebooting locks newly installed files to your registry. Its always best to do this as soon as you can after an installment of any software.)
That should cover it.If not then repost n we'll go to pLan B.!!
