Its not true that only bookworms learn from history. You learn many things which other people wrote in the school or later during your education etc.. Who told you that Nero burned Rome? Who could know it without any documents? The history teaches you that he does! But you are right the people who can read have a big advantage.
I have to repeat its also human that we will repeat some faults.
