Look in your personal folders, as Birdy suggested. That's another place you
should become familiar with as a lot of programs put configuration info and data
in there to personalize themselves to each individual user.

As long as you know the name of the folder, Start -> Search -> For files or folders

Thanks all. I am content and so is Limewire now.

Hello, this looks like something I should do but I cannot find a limewire preferences or settings folder. I just signed up and am using the newest version of pro. I did a search in all the places mentioned as well as a Start -> Search -> limewire and found nothing like what y'all have mentioned. Any help?

(You may have to change a setting in Explorer to be able to see this folder.
Go to the Tools menu, then Folder Options, switch to the View tab and turn on "Show hidden files and folders".)

It's in a hidden folder. The alternate location one. The "limewire" folder is the folder that contains the settings for LW. There's not a folder called "Settings".

When you click on the link to the hostiles list in Aaron's post, you'll be prompted to d/load a zip file. Save it to where ever("My Documents"), unzip it and there'll be a document file called "hostiles.txt". Copy or cut and paste that file into the "limewire" folder, and that's it. Next time you start up LW the list will take affect.

By the way. Your version of LimeWire has to be 4.13.0 and up. The 4.12 series
does not use hostiles.txt. You should be able to get it at your download page
for Pro but it is the beta version, not the "latest" public release one.

wondering why April 16th, 2007 01:45 AM

Try following the instructions in this thread as the LimeWire folder is hidden...
But once you find it don't delete it because this particular post is for deleting that folder, just right click on it, then open it and cut and paste the hostile list into it....Just follow Lotr's screenshot's...

I am having some trouble finding the upgraded version dl for limewire. I have 4.12.11, Pro, how can I upgrade to the one that uses this hostiles list?

birdy April 23rd, 2007 03:56 PM

You can download the 4.13.2 (current Beta version) using your Pro personal download page;) It should say "New Beta available"...click on that.
Or, if you don't have your download page bookmarked, go here & enter the email address you used to buy Pro. Providing you bought Pro less than 6 months ago, you'll be able to download the Beta Pro version.

If your Pro's out of date, you can download the basic Beta version from the basic download page:p
