Hi Peerless

You know, I've missed your acerbic wit and straight forward logic, plus I do agree, somewhat, that if some of those people at the Batman première had guns then the massacre would not have happened.

That said, guns are as popular as ever in America, according to a documentary I watched last night (called "The Batman Shootings") yet every few years you still have nutters committing atrocities, i.e. multiple murders in a public place.

Yet despite an Americans right to bear arms, I have never heard of a (responsible) gun owner preventing the mass murder of civilians.

I believe the problem in America is not the guns themselves but the ease at which unstable people can buy and collect a wide variety of them, for example, why would someone want to own, or allowed to own, guns and automatic weapons a modern army would use.

Army-type weapons should not be sold to civilians and gun buyers should under go a psych evaluation before taking ownership.
