The Adobe Flash Plugin crash

When viewing videos on BBC news on my laptop, the first few pictures are
quickly followed by a warning "The Adobe flash plugin Has Crashed".
How to solve this problem, please?

Any help you can give me will be greatly welcome, as I am 77 years old and
easily confused by computer troubles.

Don't panic. This is not an uncommon event. Simply re-start your browser each time it happens. If it happens multiple times in one day, then try restarting your computer. If still issues, check your browser and Flash Plug-in are up to date.
There will be websites or more likely specific web pages that the Flash plug-in might struggle to handle. Keep that in mind.

Steve Jobs of Apple once said if there's anything that's ever going to crash on an Apple computer & do it at a consistent rate, it is the Adobe Flash plug-in.

I have tried your suggestions, but the problem keeps cropping up. Apparently there's no solution to it.

One other thought is, install the Google Chrome browser & see if the same issue occurs. FireFox does not handle some media pages very well at times.

Firefox can also have problems with 3rd party Add-ons conflicting with other tools and add-ons. FireFox is also considerably top-heavy these days.

I still recommend using Google Chrome for watching any kind of online media instead of FireFox. Only down-side of Chrome is the option settings are all over the place & some of the tools on screen are at opposite ends to most browsers which can be difficult to get used to.
