im really sorry for asking you this question considering the stickys that have been posted. but i am completely clueless about how to take dl music with my firewall activated. in the bottom corner of limewire there is a globe with a brick wall and i cant seem to get rid of it. i did go to my firewall options and list limewire as an exception but it still isnt allowing me to dl music. there is also another thing that i think might be a problem...i have a laptop and am using someone elses connection. could that be why its not working?? i am so sorry for posting this but i just cant seem to figure it out. i went thru both stickys about maximizing dl'ing but nothing has changed. please please help me..i am so frustrated. its been over a week now :( thanks so much |
Are you connected well (how many green connection bars)? If you're not connected, do this test (click on link) http://www3.limewire.com:6346 If you're seeing the firewall icon, it's either a problem with a software firewall or an internal firewall within a modem or router. There's a lot of firewall information here Connection problems? Check here first! Make sure you're only using 1 software firewall & that it's configured for LW. Read through the info about modems/routers, there's info about UPnP & port forwarding. What are your details? OS(Win XP etc) LW & Java version (help > about LW & you'll see) Firewall you're using Modem/router brand & model ISP Connection type (DSL etc) Where you connect from (home, school etc) Are you sharing a connection with other computers Is this your first try with LW |
