Looks similar to the FM kind I've used for several years. I find it's better than the infra red ones (longer distance, less wall interference.) I can even wear it outside for a small distance at least.
Quality of headphone and distance it can send to depends on brand and model and price of course.

i moved sanyo in corner on the octagon table
theres no hook up but i can use it as a games center while phillips tv is on cable/watch tv

i put new swichbox on tv in bed room
this one sets box as DEFAULT TV if things are OFF
button 1 VCR
Button 2 DVD player
Button 3 Game/AUX

my living room one is
1 TV
2 GAME/AUX
3 DVD/VCR Combo
with this box its ONE OR OTHER
i also tested my camcorder on the tv bedroom #3 Game/AUX
as well as sano since its not being used as tv

i also have a OLD dual tape deck w a in out for sound
i okugged it in the sanyo sounds great
theres no speaks except HEADPHONES
