Okay,

I read loads of blurb on how to connect, and after trying god knows how many patches with no lick I used an uninstaller to completely cleanse my old version of LPE from my system and then reinstalled.

And hey-presto, result, connected straight away.

However, going back into limewire second time this evening resulted in return of same issue - ie limewire wont connect.

So it would seem its not a system/patch issue. Its something us. But what? Any ideas?

I was on here a few months ago and tried the various patches and suggestions by the moderators.

The only one that works is the the clean uninstall then re-install of LPE. Nut this will work on for this first time is opened.

Then the old will not connect issue resurfaces unless I go through the same process again.

SO it does not seem to be a patch/firewall/virus software issue, but something else. But what? Any ideas? I did for good measure download the LOTR March patch and copied to my pref folder but this did not do the trick either.

If no one has any ideas does anyone have a link to an older LW edition that is downloadable and works (although when it works LPE would be my pref)

No problems in that regard, the post was held in moderation queue for strange reasons. That's why you did not see your original post immediately.

Take Birdy's advice and see how the suggestions work for you. If none of the suggestions works, then post back with your system details as suggested, and tell us what you tried doing from the suggested ideas to try and explain their effect if possible.
